‘Thrilled’ about Jaye appointment

I am writing to point out a minor error in your excellent May 21 article about Schechter’s new director of academic affairs, Daniel Jaye. While my two grandsons who are in first grade and pre-K at Schechter are always full of great ideas, it was actually my daughter, a member of Schechter’s board, who first suggested that Ruth Gafni, the head of school, contact me. It was then my pleasure to introduce Mrs. Gafni to my former student, long-time friend, and colleague Daniel Jaye, and the rest, is, as they say, history. As a Schechter grandparent and an educator, I am thrilled that Daniel Jaye will be joining Schechter. His skills and vision will take Schechter to new heights. He will bring his talents to all aspects of Schechter’s educational program, share his knowledge with every teacher in the school, and the students will be the beneficiaries. I look forward to watching my grandchildren grow and learn in the special environment that Daniel Jaye, Ruth Gafni, and the entire Schechter faculty will create for them.
