Helen Koerner
Helen Koerner of Rochester, N.Y., 97, formerly of Fair Lawn, died on Nov. 29.
She was a Holocaust survivor.
Predeceased by family in the Holocaust and her husband, Herman, she is survived by her daughter, Gene Spiro (Lou); granddaughters, Abby Hirsch (Yaron), Haley Schedlin (Eric), and Marcy Spiro; and two great-grandsons, Natanel and Idan.
Donations can be made to the JCC Jewish Home Foundation or Temple B’rith Kodesh Foundation, both in Rochester.
Arrangements were by Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel, Paramus.
Lawrence Liebowitz
Lawrence “Larry”Liebowitz, 69, of Paramus, died on Dec. 2.
Born in New York City, he was the owner and president of LARO Homes, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Rhoda; two daughters, Karen Tenzer (Sam) and Debra Mason (Peter); a son, Michael Liebowitz (Leslie Phillips); a brother, Stanley (Susan); a sister, Marsha Greenberg (Paul); grandchildren, Alia and Isaac Liebowitz, Eli and Tyler Tenzer, and Abigail Mason; and many nieces and nephews.
Donations can be made to a charity of choice. Services were at the Jewish Community Center of Paramus; arrangements were by Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, Hackensack.
Rose Moore
Rose Watner Moore, 95, died on Nov. 22.
Born in Passaic, she was active with the Fair Lawn Jewish Center where she was sisterhood president, a life member of Hadassah, a volunteer at Daughters of Miriam Center in Clifton, and a member of the Fair Lawn Juvenile Conference Committee.
Predeceased by her husband of more than 40 years, Harry; she is survived by a son, Joel (Pam) of New Hope, Pa.; a daughter, Linda Mur (Ken) of Woodstown; a sister, Betty Rotenberg; two grandchildren, Harrison and Jonathan Kirkland; nieces and nephews.
Donations can be made to a local Hadassah chapter.

Doris Kohn
Doris Kohn, née Korngrun, of Teaneck, died at home on
Nov. 29.
Born in Poland, before retiring, she was a milliner. She was a member of Cong. Beth Sholom in Teaneck where she was a past president of its sisterhood and ran the gift shop.
Predeceased by her husband, Walter in 1998, and a sister, Kitty Roth; she is survived by a son,
Martin Kohn Kinnelon; a daughter, Sherry Kohn; and two grandchildren, Lisa and Greg.
Donations can be made to a charity of choice or The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Janet Mary Werkmeister
Dr. Janet Mary Werkmeister (Fillit), 61, of Tenafly, died on Nov. 22 at home.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Howard Fillit; her father, Paul Werkmeister of Linden; a daughter, Marielle Fillit of New York City; a son, Michael Fillit of Tenafly; and two sisters, Karen Orlando of Georgia and Ann Constantino of Linden.
She was a physician at The New York Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan and a member of Chavurah Beth Shalom in Alpine.

Dora Dorenter
Dora Dorenter, 88, of Fair Lawn, died on Nov. 26. Born in Belchatow, Poland, she came to America in 1946 settling in Paterson. A Holocaust survivor, she was a member of the Eastside Social Center in Fair Lawn.
She is survived by a son, Dr. Peter, two daughters, Ann Harris (Dr. Robert) and Rosalyn Rechter (Dr. Michael); five grandchildren, Alexis Dorenter, Stacey Harris Maman, Jason Harris, Melissa Rechter, and Scott Rechter; and two great-grandchildren, Aiden Dorenter and Ayla Maman.
Arrangements were by Louis Suburban Chapel, Fair Lawn.
Arnold Baskin
Arnold Benjamin Baskin of Hampton Bays, N.Y., formerly of New York City, died on Nov. 24 in Stonybrook, N.Y.
Born in New York City, he was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran earning the Bronze Star.
A graduate of City College of New York, he was a teacher in the New York City Public Schools for 15 years.
Predeceased by his wife, Gertrude, née Rochman, he is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Narrina) of Teaneck and Michael of Manhattan; three grandchildren, Lalanya, Jaqueline, and Jeffrey; and two great-grandchildren, Amanda and Nathan.
Arrangements were by Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, Hackensack.
Seth Rubenstein
Seth Eric Rubenstein, 64, of Riverdale, N.Y., formerly of Fair Lawn, died on Nov. 1.
He was a sports photographer and a business representative for medical supplies.
He is survived by his parents, Doris and Dr. Joseph L. Rubenstein of Fair Lawn; two brothers, Dr. James and Dr. Sidney (Susan); a sister, Dr. Margo; three nieces, Jana, Liza, and Shayna; and a nephew, Simon.
