David Mironov

David Mironov, 92, who lived in Teaneck, Hackensack, New York City, and the Bronx, died on June 25 in Hackensack.

Born in New York, he was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was a CPA and comptroller.

Predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Selma, née Shmulowitz, he is survived by his children, Mike, Joseph, Laura Paley, and Richard, and their spouses; and seven grandchildren.

Donations can be made to a charity of choice.

Arrangements were by Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, Hackensack.

 
 

Alice Fisher Kunstler

Alice Fisher Kunstler, who died June 21 in Hackensack at 103, had logged in more than 4,000 volunteer hours at Hackensack University Medical Center. A pastoral care volunteer, she visited Jewish patients twice a week. A graduate of Julia Richman High School in Manhattan, she worked for a furniture manufacturer, married, settled in Queens, N.Y., and moved to Closter in 1955. She worked as a bookkeeper in New York and Northvale.

Predeceased by her husband, Louis, in 1959, she is survived by two daughters, Jane Kunstler and Laura Graff; and two grandchildren, Rebecca and Benjamin Graff.

Arrangements were by Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, Hackensack.

 
 

Lawrence Nyman

Lawrence Nyman, 85, of Englewood, died on June 27 at home.

Born in Jersey City, he was a World War II Army veteran. Before retiring, he was a psychology professor at City College in New York City for almost 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Danielle, nee Cukler; two daughters, Tamor Lasky of Rhode Island and Reba Linker of Queens, N.Y.; a son, Dov Kruger of Teaneck; and four grandchildren.

Arrangements were by Eden Memorial Chapels in Fort Lee.

 
 

Tzipora and Yaakov Fendel

Tzipora Ungar, daughter of Leah and Rav Reuven (Ethan) Ungar of Yishuv Talmon, and Yaakov Fendel, son of Mechi and Rav Dovid Fendel of Sderot, were married on 20 Adar I, Feb. 23, in Yad Binyamin, Israel. The bride’s father is director of alumni affairs, Yeshivat Sha’alvim; the groom’s father is rosh hayeshiva, (head of the rabbinical academy) Hesder Yeshiva of Sderot.

Twenty-one years ago, one guest had to leave the bride’s parents’ wedding early to give birth. The guest was Mechi Fendel and the baby born that night was Yaakov.

The bride graduated from Ulpana Raia in Beit El, performed a year of national service in Ashkelon, and plans to study physical therapy. The groom graduated from Yeshiva Yerushalayim LeTzeirim and studies in Mercaz HaRav. They live nearby in the Givat Shaul neighborhood of Jerusalem.

The couple’s seven grandparents include Albert Dukelsky of Chicago, Ill. Among the 600 friends and relatives at the wedding were grandparents Rabbi Andre and Judy Ungar of Oradell, Rabbi Meyer and Goldie Fendel, and Rabbi Moishe and Feige Friederwitzer of Israel.

 
 

Dr. Daniel Kaplan

Dr. Daniel Kaplan of Englewood Cliffs, 82, died on June 21 at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.

Born in Jersey City, before retiring he was a dentist in Jersey City for many years. He was also a founding member of the New Synagogue of Fort Lee.

Predeceased by a son, Judge Charles Kaplan of Florida, he is survived by his wife, Sylvia, née Bresev; a daughter, Laura Kaplan of New York City; two sisters, Florence Lazar and Sylvia Kops; and three grandchildren, Zachary, Ben, and Emily Rose.

Arrangements were by Eden Memorial Chapels in Fort Lee.

Ryan Scott Stolz, son of Neil and Beth Stolz of Glen Rock and brother of Jacob, became a bar mitzvah on June 18 at the Glen Rock Jewish Center. His grandparents are Alan and Frances Robinson of Hillsdale and Joseph and Ruth Stolz of Paramus.
