Paramus

Students at Yeshivat Noam in Paramus won first place at the Science Olympiad on May 6 at the Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy in Livingston. Four other New Jersey yeshiva day schools participated: Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy, Jewish Educational Center in Elizabeth, Hillel Yeshiva in Ocean, and Solomon Schechter of Essex and Union County. The Science Olympiad is an international non-profit organization devoted to improving the quality of science education, increasing student interest in science, and providing recognition for outstanding achievement in science education by both students and teachers. Each school formed a team of 15 fourth- and fifth-graders who competed in 13 competitions. Solomon Schechter came in second place and JKHA in third.
